Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a standard way for allowing group and private communications. IRC has been around for a long time. UGOTTA hosts it's own irc server at this address. If you wish to participate you can join by installing an IRC client. I recommend you use the GAIM irc client it is a GUI client, it is free (in both senses of the word), and it runs on multiple operating system.

If you choose to use GAIM once you install it you will need to create a new account to do this:

  • choose IRC for the account type
  • type ugotta.org for the server
  • type whatever you want for the screenname
  • you don't need a password or alias.

    • Once you have created an account you can connect and then join a channel(simliar to a chat room). Click on the chat button on the bottom of the gaim window and type of name of the channel you want to join (I'm in UGOTTA).
